Technical Product Developer

The role

As a Technical Product Developer you're a fulltime key player in our small company. In our workspace you’ll be working for both brands; GOSOAKY + GOFRANCK. You will support and work closely with our designer to realize our seasonal collections.You will be responsible to maintain our high quality standard of all developments of salesman samples and bulk productions. Work with overseas suppliers on all aspects of our developments.

  • Develop size specifications for all our products;

  • Price negotiation with our suppliers.

  • Checking and assessing all samples and communicating comments to suppliers in order to ensure the desired production quality;

  • Track and follow up on pending prototypes and pre-production approval to ensure on-time delivery;

  • Monitor production, solve problems and to ensure on-time delivery and high quality;

  • Conduct a transparent and efficient administration of the above activities;

  • Responsible for quality control and ensuring client happiness;

  • Re-measure and checking samples in all kinds of processes and communicate comments to suppliers

  • Own the fit process and technical development of product from proto to bulk production whilst ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout.

  • Maintain and update existing carry over designs, ensuring these are up to date and accurate.

  • Create seasonal style specs and techpacks for handover to vendors within set deadlines.

  • Maintain sizing standards and grading and approve these for production.

  • Prepare and relay fit comments to factories and ensure these are accurately executed.

  • Standardize and align best practices to boost speed and simplify processes.

  • Focus on garment engineering to drive improvement of product margins.

  • Risk-assess and flag any production or quality issues throughout a style’s development and work together with relevant offshore teams to find appropriate solutions.

  • Closely monitoring the production calendar to meet deadlines;

  • Take regular factory visits to oversee proto and sampling stages.

 

The Perfect Candidate

  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience as a Developer within the fashion industry.

  • Excellent technical experience in development and fitting of technical outerwear

  • Excellent knowledge of garment manufacturing;

  • High level textile knowledge is a must;

  • Organized, flexible, committed;

  • You are accurate (eye for detail) and a go-getter with a "hands on" mentality;

  • Loves working with tight deadlines;

  • Team player with strong work ethic;

  • Very good writing skills and verbal skills in English;

  • You are a problem solver and a multi-tasker who is in control of priorities;

  • Good skills in Excel

  • Is comfortable working independently and is a decision maker.

  • Comfortable working closely with a designer on new ideas and interpretations.

  • Experience dealing with offshore factories/suppliers is beneficial.

  • Flexible to travel at least 2 times a year to Asia and Europe.

  • Fun person to work with.

  • You live in the Netherlands.
